Location:	Ohio Bird Sanctuary
Description:	Each Saturday the Ohio Bird Sanctuary offers free "Nature Encounters". Come enjoy a short presentation by one of the volunteers or staff starring one of the resident birds that have come to the sanctuary and could not be released back into the wild after rehabilitation. You will learn about the species, what they eat, how they hunt, how they live, and their typical activities in the wild. The Ohio Bird Sanctuary is a 501(3) non-profit organization which is dedicated to the rehabilitation of Ohio's native birds of prey and songbirds, with an emphasis on educating the community about conservation of our natural resources. The Bird Sanctuary is open to the public and encompasses over 90 acres including; hiking trails, live bird of prey displays, and a walk-through songbird aviary. Visitors can purchase a small cup of meal worms in the Visitor Center and hand feed the aviary residents. Visitor Center, Displays and Trail Open Hours Monday - Visitor Center, Displays and Trails closed Tuesday through Saturday - 10:00am to 4:00pm Sunday - Noon to 4:00pm DAILY ADMISSION IS FREE: DONATIONS WELCOMED! Description:	Parkrun organizes free, timed 5k runs every week in over 900 locations around the world. Same time, same place and at no cost. Ever. Free one-time registration gives you a unique bar code which is used to track participation and your run times. Parkrun is open to all - young, old, runners, walkers, joggers. Mansfield, Ohio, Parkruns are a free, non-competitive 5K every Saturday (starting Jan. 21) from North Lake Park at 9 am. All ages and abilities welcome. We invite you to join us January 21 at any participation level that is comfortable for you. Meet new friends or dedicate that time to be active on your own. Run, walk or jog there is no requirement! What is Mansfield OH parkrun? It is a 5km run - it's you against the clock. When is it? Every Saturday at 9:00am (October through April) 8:00am (May through September). Where is it? The event takes place at North Lake Park, 270 Rae Ave, Mansfield, OH 44903. .See Course page for more details What does it cost to join in? Nothing - it's free! but please register before your first run. Only ever register with parkrun once. Don't forget to bring a printed copy of your barcode (request a reminder). Title:	Altered Eats: Cooking for Your Health

Description:	Altered Eats is excited to announce that they have created a Series of Local Food Dinners and Cooking Classes, as well as a Harvest Celebration, that will take place throughout the summer at the MBA Entrepreneurs' Kitchen! ALTERED EATS 2017 COOKING CLASSES: Each class is $80. Class space is limited. Each class will allow for a maximum of 8 students. Free ticket to Harvest Celebration Dinner on October 21st when you sign up for a class or dinner. All classes will be held at the Mind Body Align Entrepreneurs' Commercial Kitchen located at 13 Park Ave. West Friday, June 16th, 7-10pm Basics of Baking: Desra Wells from Blackbird Bakery and Anne Massie from Altered Eats will be demonstrating how to bake the perfect cookie as well as a bread making demonstration. Ever wonder why your baked goods aren’t quite right? We will have tips on how to improve your baking! Class includes an array of baked goods for sampling, refreshing herb tea and appetizers. All participants will take home printed recipes as well as receive a follow up email with recipes. Purchase Tickets Here For Basics of Baking Saturday, August 26th, 6-9pm Cooking for Your Health: Anne Massie of Altered Eats and Nicholas Copley of Altered Eats and Lionheart Medicinal Gardens will teach a hands on class demonstrating meals that are tasty and good for you! Anne will demonstrate how to make "protein power bowls" that are easy to put together for a quick dinner as well as the basics behind making a homemade salad dressing. Nick will discuss the role of herbs in health, and demonstrate an in season dish that is wild foraged from our area. All participants will take home printed recipes. Samples of the demonstrated items as well as appetizers and iced tea will be served. Purchase Tickets Here for Cooking for Your Health Saturday, October 7th, 7-10pm The Secrets of Scratch Pie Making: Desra Wells from the Blackbird Bakery and Anne Massie from Altered Eats will be demonstrating how to bake a pie from scratch. Desra will show the students how to make the perfect crust, giving you time to practice before the holidays! Anne will demonstrate how to make delicious Quiche Lorraine. This class is hands on, participants will learn how to roll their own dough and will take their own personal pie home! Class includes baked goods for sampling, refreshing herb tea and appetizers. Description:	Come buy, play, sell, trade games and toys all From Vintage to New Age at the Ohio Gaming, Anime and Toys Convention! Ohio Gaming, Anime, and Toys is having an event on Saturday, August 26th, 2017. Doors will open at 12pm and will close at 5pm. Admission is just $5 per person at noon, and only $3 after 1pm. We will have over $500 in raffle prizes for all customers to enter. There will be over 50 tables filled with video games, toys, board/card games, cosplay costumes and much more all "from vintage to new age"! There is also a cosplay contest, so be sure to dress for the occasion! This is our first Cosplay competition that has major prizes. Our Cosplay competition will have prizes for the top 3 placers. Be sure to dress for the occasion, the prizes will be worth the effort you put into your costumes. Judging will be based upon accuracy of your character, originality, craftsmanship, creativity, and more. It does not have to be video game related, any character is welcomed. We will have 3 judges looking at each and every detail of your costume in the regards of how close it is to your character. Judging will start at 2pm. Description:	Visit Kingwood Center Gardens for The Fall Harvest Show, sponsored by the Mansfield Men’s Garden Club. The Fall Harvest Show will be held on Saturday, August 26th, 2-5pm & Sunday, August 27, 10am-5pm. Area gardeners are invited to show their best vegetables, flowers, fruits, herbs, houseplants, and flower arrangements, and to compete for prizes in many different categories. Entries will be accepted on Saturday, August 26, from 7-11am. An electric golf cart and hand carts will be available to transport entries to the Carriage House during this time. Show schedules, entry cards, and other information may be obtained at Kingwood. Junior gardeners, through grade 12, may also exhibit their vegetables, flowers, gourds, and pumpkins.
