Vodka is made from either grain, rye, wheat, potatoes or sugar beet molasses as the primary ingredients combined with yeast in order to generate alcohol. After distillation, the product is almost pure ethyl alcohol and is watered down before bottling, after which it usually has an alcohol content of between 35 - 50%.

 Aside from drinking, vodka has many other uses, some that can replace environmentally harsh chemicals we use around the home.

 Thanks to its basic mixture of pure alcohol and water, vodka can be used as a strong household cleaner, pesticide and so much more. Bonus: it's a non-toxic alternative to many traditional products and chemicals

Use it as an antacid.

• Ask a doctor or a pharmacist before use if you are taking a prescription drug. Antacids may interact with certain prescription drugs.

• Stop use and ask a doctor if symptoms last more than 2 weeks.

Use it as underarm deodorant by applying it with a powder puff or can be used wet.

Mix half a teaspoon with peroxide paste and use it as toothpaste
 

Salt has a great number of uses other than simply seasoning your food!

• Sprinkle salt on your shelves to keep ants away.
• Used in canning vegetables, meats and fruits.
• Used in pickling.
• Used to preserve meats. 

• Soak stained hankies in salt water before washing

Recipe #1 Hand Dishwashing Liquid

• 2 Bars shredded Octagon soap
• 1 cup baking soda
• 1/4 cup washing soda
• 1/4 cup lemon juice

Directions

Put shredded soap in 4 1/2- 5 quarts of water and melt on stove. When melted, turn stove off and add all other ingredients and stir. When cooled down, pour in sealed containers.

Use as you would any other dish detergent. The only thing is that it doesn't sud much, but gets dishes really clean. I keep a partial bar of Octagon soap by the sink to use when needed. I also use 1/8 cup of vinegar in the rinse water. Hope this works for you!
