New for 2019!

Our Ghost Hunts offer something for every skill set! Based on your personal skill level with investigating the paranormal, our guides will split participants into 3 groups.

For Beginners:

Our ghostly guides will show you how to test the limits of paranormal investigating, including interaction with entities or spirits, documenting encounters, and basic use of ghost hunting equipment as we take you on a tour of the decommissioned prison.

For Intermediate:

Interested investigators are welcome to join a knowledgeable tour guide on a 1-hour tour of the facility to better understand the footprint of the building and to hear the stories of the most documented hot-spots.

For Advanced Repeat Visitors:

Begin your investigation in areas that are known remarkably for their paranormal activity.

After the tours conclude, pizza will be available for grazing throughout the evening as well as soda, coffee, and hot chocolate. Independent investigating will go until 3:00am. OSR staff will be available all evening for assistance. Above all, we want all participants to have a positive and safe evening.

There are endless areas for investigation in the 250,000 square feet of the facility. Walk the range on the sixth tier of the worlds largest free-standing cell block or sit in the warden's bedroom where his wife sustained a mortal gunshot wound. Other areas include West Cell Block, Solitary Confinement, Chapel, and Administration.

Ghost Hunts are offered on select Fridays and Saturdays throughout the year. Participants arrive between 6:00pm and 6:45pm to complete registration. The Museum Store/Gift Shop will only be open during that time. The tours will depart at 7:10pm with an exploration of four of the hottest paranormal spots of the facility. Pizza will be available after 9:00pm and independent investigating will continue until 3:00am.

Admission is $70.00 per person.

Participants must be 18 years or older with valid identification. Tickets must be purchased in advance.

BOOK NOW

Why should you book a ghost hunt at OSR?

Ghost Hunters from around the world flock to the Ohio State Reformatory to become part of the paranormal legacy that has been so present over the course of the last 20 years of investigating at the prison. Documented shadow figures, light anomalies, quality EVPs, and full-bodied apparitions have been reported as well as the unique cases of scratching and other aggressive tendencies. While we at the Reformatory have collected these stories, we do not promote aggressive ghost hunting or intentional provoking. First and foremost we make every effort to sustain a positive and safe environment for paranormal investigators.

*The building contains hazards including, but not limited to steep steps, uneven surfaces, and lead-based paint.  It is not recommended for pregnant women. Sleeping during a hunt is prohibited. For a full list of rules and regulations, please visit the Mansfield Reformatory Preservation Society website at https://www.mrps.org/explore/paranormal-programs/public-ghost-hunt-rules-and-regulations

**Due to the fact that our ghosts aren't on the payroll, we cannot promise paranormal activity.
